Until approx 1905 Steamcars are buggies like Edi's car. Tiller steered, with the boiler and engine under the seat. |

From 1905 to approx 1918 most Steamcars have the familiar coffin nose bonnet with varying sizes of engine, boiler, and body styles. This is the period of the mountain wagon . The engine lies mid chassis and is a horizontal twin, direct geared to the rear axle. The boiler is under the bonnet. |

Stage 3 1916 - 1926

From approx 1918 to mid 1920's the Steamcars had a more conventional appearance, because they used a condenser to reuse the exhaust steam. This condenser looks very much like a radiator and is mounted in the same place as on a petrol car. |
